Student Opinions on Frostburg State University Off-Campus Housing

After freshmen year living in a dorm, many students cannot wait to live off campus. Freedom, choosing who they live with, the ability to decorate the place as they please, it all sounds great. Here are some Frostburg State students opinions on the off campus housing around the campus!

"I personally never had a problem with the housing here on campus, but I have friends who have. I guess all I can say is to do your research before signing the contract."
Jeffrey Bonilla, senior

"Living off campus was the best decision I could have made. I get my own room and privacy, yet still get to live with some of my closest friends and have a great time."
Mallory Disler, senior

"Off campus housing is great, you just have to do your research. Figure out who lived there before you and definitely go on a tour. My friend and I looked at a house and it turned out to be the party house for an off campus fraternity… we left before going inside."
Samuel Lohff, sophomore

"I enjoyed it for what it was. I wish there were more safe options available like the house I stayed in. Converted houses are scary if not done properly."
Eric Nixon, alumni

"I think it teaches college students a sense of responsibility and what it’s truly like to live on your own. My only complaint would be the lack of communication between the university and off campus housing. It makes it hard to learn more about the off campus option and finding the right leasing agency."
Nisha Stephens, senior

With hearing these students speak, I can say there are varied opinions across campus ! This blog will be dedicated to the different opinions people have about Frostburg’s off campus housing along with more in-depth perspectives and topics like house fires, sanitation among others. Till next time!
